Ukhrul, Jan 24: According to the press release issued by the District Information Officer, Senapati, George Kurian, the Minister of State for Minority Affairs, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, Government of India, visited Senapati today. During his visit, he was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Mamoni Doley, IAS, and other key officials from the district. Together, they inspected a range of institutions and project sites across the district.

The press release further mentions that during the Minister’s visit, he inspected the Model Residential School at Taphou Naga, the District Hospital Senapati, the AstroTurf Senapati, the Multi-Purpose Parking Lot, the Village Chief Association Building, and the Model Anganwadi Centre at Rikhumai Taphou. Minister Kurian also took the opportunity to interact with local village chiefs.
In the later, the MoS chaired a review meeting with the Districts Level Officers on the implementation of central flagship programmes and policies and also review progress report of various departments at DC Conference Hall, Senapati. Several key issues were also discussed pertaining to the implementation of projects under various central schemes.

In the meeting, the MoS George Kurian expressed the Prime Minister’s concerns for developing the North- Eastern states of India. He also applauded the District Administration of Senapati for doing well in the overall performances while delivering services to the people. “Information and transformation should go together hand in hand”, he added.
According to the press release, He also took stock on the implementation of various schemes and projects such as PMJAY, PMMVY, PM JANMAN, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Poshan Abhiyan, AAY, PHH, PM Poshan Scheme, JJM, PMAY-G, and SkillDevelopments etc. under the departments of Health, ICDS, CAF & PD, Education, Agriculture and others.

The press release goes on to state that Minister Kurian also reviewed activities undertaken by departments like MSPDCL, PWD, PHED, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, and Fisheries. The discussion covered key issues such as road connectivity, tap water connections, electricity supply, literacy rates, and SHG development within the district.
The meeting was attended by DC, Senapati Mamoni Doley, IAS, SP, Anupam, IPS, ADC, Senapati Rang David Kung, MCS, DFO, Senapati Shanngam S, IFS, CEO/ ADC, Senapati Adahrii Maheo, MCS, SDO’s and DLO’s.
