Ukhrul: The Movement for Development of Ukhrul Town Road (NH-102A) has expressed appreciation to the proposed expansion of the National Highway of Ukhrul-Talui-Tadubi under NH-102A to double lane specification in an order by deputy commission vide notification No. 10/106/2016-Rev(UKL) dated 220.06.2017.
The letter pointed out that the general public has promptly hailed the proposed project as a welcome developmental boost as the same would surely enhance better connectivity, convenience and economic growth in this long-neglected region.

It also said, the fresh expansion work from 0 – 5 km., i.e. from Dungrei Junction – Kharasom Junction was originally proposed to pass through the heart of Ukhrul Town and whereas the MDUTR (NH-102A) has sought for diversion of the proposed alignment in the interest, inter alia, of creating more alternative bypasses/beltways for the better connectivity and convenience of Ukhrul Town. It furthermore said, the concerned authority has readily agreed to realign the proposed route by way of cutting a fresh bypass and to further maintain, upgrade and improve the existing Ukhrul Town main road.
“In the given circumstances, we, the undersigned herein, through this letter of appreciation as on behalf of the Movement for Development of Ukhrul Town Road (NH-102A), are herebyobliged to express our sincere appreciation for the prompt amends made thereto,” said the letter issued by AS Ningmi convenor and PS John, secretary MDUTR (NH-102A).
