Imphal, April 16: Opposing what they called “vendetta politics,” the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) organised a protest today in front of the Enforcement Directorate’s office in Chingmeirong in Imphal.

MPCC president K Meghachandra Singh, CLP Leader O Ibobi, CWC member Gaikhangam, Congress office bearers, former MPs and MLAs, and leaders of various fronts, cells, and departments participated in the protest rally.

The protest was sparked by the controversial seizure of National Herald’s assets and the Enforcement Directorate’s filing of a chargesheet against Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

MPCC president Keisham Meghachandra denounced the actions as clear examples of political vendetta aimed at stifling opposition voices.

He emphasised that such actions by the BJP-led government undermine democratic principles and the right to dissent.

CLP leader Okram Ibobi also shared similar sentiments, condemning what he described as the arbitrary targeting of the Congress leadership.
