MSCW discusses cases involving police officials with DGP

A delegation of the Meghalaya State Commission for Women (MSCW) on Tuesday called on the state Director General of Police (DGP), R. Chandranathan to discuss cases received by the commission in which members of the police force are respondents.

During the interaction, the delegation led by the commission’s Chairperson Theilin Phanbuh also suggested that sensitization programs should be conducted for police officials on a regular basis and necessary steps should be initiated to avert and resolve such incidents.  

Also present during the discussion was the Additional Director General of Police (L&O/TAP), I. Nongrang, who confirmed that numerous training programs pertaining to sensitizing of the police personnel had been conducted in the past and similar training would also be organized in the days to come.
