MSFDS Selects Four Financial Awardees to Attend 55th International Film Festival of India

Imphal: The Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS) has announced the selection of four delegates from the state to receive financial support for attending the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), scheduled from November 20 to 28, 2024, in Goa. 

The chosen individuals, representing diverse roles within the film and media industry, include Shanti Raj (Film Technician), Thotreisho Keishing (Film Actor and Music Director), Dr. A. Bishwajit Sharma (Journalist), and filmmaker Ajit Yumnam, the MSFDS said in a press release today.

Dr. A. Bishwajit Sharma, the only journalist selected, has been tasked with covering the prestigious event and film bazaar, bringing insights back to the state, it also said. The other three delegates—recognized by the Selection Committee for their dedication and vision—will form a specialized team to gain exposure to global cinema trends, film marketing, and finance.

An accumulated fund of Rs. 1,10,000 from MSFDS’s grant-in-aid for promotional activities will be allocated to support these film delegates for IFFI 2024.

Each year, MSFDS offers financial support to members of the film and arts community, as well as journalists and film writers, to attend IFFI, the largest film festival in Asia, organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.
