Mao Students’ Union Wins the Second Knockout Match at NSF Trophy

Senapati, September 22: The Mao Students’ Union won 5-1 against Mereima Village Youth Organization in the 2nd round of the ongoing 25th NSF Martyrs’ Trophy. In the next round, Mao Students’ Union will play against Phesama Students’ Union on 04 October 2025 at IG Stadium, Kohima.

Jersey No. 10 of Mao Students’ Union bagged a hat-trick and No. 7 scored a brace, while Jersey No. 9 pulled one back for Mereima Youth Organization in the 2nd half.

Shining bright on the field, Lohrii Kaisii, donning Jersey No. 23, earned a well-deserved Man of the Match award for his outstanding performance. The award was presented by Vilhousielie Kengurise, Former President of the All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU).

Earlier, in the first round, MSU had won 3-0 against Highlanders FC Pfutsero on 16th September. The 25th Anniversary of the NSF Martyrs’ Trophy kicked off on 13 September 2025 at IG Stadium, Kohima, and will conclude on 18 October 2025. This year’s edition is being played at two different locations: IG Stadium, Kohima, and Chiimoukedima Football Stadium, Dimapur in Nagaland.
