Mt. Zion & ACS Bag Championships at the 63rd Subroto Cup, 2024

Senapati, 17 May: Mt. Zion Sr. Sec. School clinched the championship title in the Under-15 boys category, while Asufii Christian School secured the title in the Under-17 category at the 63rd Subroto Cup, 2024, International Football Tournament held at Astro Turf Ground, Senapati.

In the final match for the Under-15 category, Mt. Zion Sr. Sec. School played against Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School, Maram, and won the match with a decisive score of 5-1. Asufii Christian School emerged victorious against Mt. Zion Sr. Sec. School in the Under-17 final with a close score of 3-2.

Speaking as the chief guest, Panii Ngaonii, Jr. MCS, SDC, Senapati, stated that the winners will represent the state in the Subroto Cup and wished all the players the very best of luck. He also advised the players to take care of their health, as they may have the opportunity to compete at the national level if they win the state-level Subroto Cup.

Ngaonii also shared his experiences of participating in the tournament during his youth, emphasizing that the tournament is a significant platform for those aspiring to pursue a career in sports. He expressed hope that the players will bring glory and pride to the district in the future. He then encouraged the players to avoid any intoxicants to maintain their fitness for a sports career.
