MY Bharat Kamjong successfully conducted the Unity March Sardar@150 Padyatra on 7 November 2025 as part of the nationwide observance of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The march, held under the theme Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, began from Chassad Police Station and concluded at Town Hall, Kamjong. The initiative aimed to promote national unity and inspire youth participation in community development.

The Padyatra was inaugurated by Rangnamei Rang Peter, IAS, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, he encouraged the youth of Kamjong District to uphold the values of unity, peace, and patriotism. Rang also spoke about Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s crucial role in uniting 562 princely states into one strong and vibrant nation. He further highlighted Patel’s contribution to reorganizing the civil services and cited examples of his leadership, such as the Bordoloi Satyagraha, a fight against tyranny for the rights of the poor and underprivileged citizens of India. He concluded his speech with a resounding message, emphasizing that every citizen must uphold the unity and integrity of the nation.
The event was also graced by the presence of Jain Huileng, ADM Kamjong, and Hoping Chithung, Headman of Bungpa Khullen Village, who extended their support and addressed the gathering with motivational messages.
The Bharat Aatmanirbhar Pledge was administered by Woryar Bungpadang, President of Kamjong Katamnao Long. Participants paid floral tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and sports materials were distributed to youth clubs.
Cultural performances by artists from Bungpa Village and Chassad Village added vibrancy to the celebration of Patel’s 150th Birth Anniversary.
Over 600 participants, including MY Bharat volunteers, students, youth leaders, church representatives, ASHA workers, police personnel, BSF members, and community leaders, took part in the 8-kilometre Padyatra. They raised spirited slogans promoting unity, peace, and social responsibility.
In the days leading up to the event, several pre-event activities were organized across schools and colleges in Kamjong District by the ZEO Kamjong. These included essay writing, poster-making, and extempore competitions, as well as yoga sessions and cleanliness drives, all designed to engage young minds in nation-building initiatives.
MY Bharat Kamjong extends heartfelt appreciation to the District Administration, educational institutions, volunteers, youth organizations, local authorities, and security personnel for their support and cooperation in making the event a success. The Unity March Sardar@150 Padyatra stands as a strong testament to the collective spirit of the youth in carrying forward the enduring legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
