NSUB Hosts Sports Meet 2025 at Don Bosco College, Bengaluru

The Naga Students’ Union Bangalore (NSUB) successfully held its Sports Meet 2025 on October 31 and November 1 at Don Bosco College, TC Palya, KR Puram, bringing together hundreds of students, working professionals, and families from various Naga sub-units and tribal unions for two days of competitive sportsmanship, unity, and cultural pride.

The event commenced with an opening ceremony featuring the NSUB Anthem, followed by an invocation prayer from Pastor Nikato Yeptho, NCF Bangalore. Greetings were then delivered by NSUB President Eli Nungsangmongla Ozukum. The ceremony included inspiring addresses by Shri Rajesh A. M., IFS, Joint Resident Commissioner, Government of Manipur (Liaison Office, Bengaluru), and Eno Tesongty Hopson Monsang, Chief Office Superintendent (Former Inspector, Railway Protection Force), South Western Railways, Bengaluru.

The official oath-taking was led by Eno Shepou L., Sports Secretary, NSUB, and the event was formally declared open by Fr. Dr. Geo Kalladanthiyil SDB, Principal, Don Bosco College, who also shared words of encouragement with the gathered athletes and supporters.

The two-day meet featured a variety of outdoor sports, including football, basketball, volleyball, Women Penalty shoot, chess, carrom, track and field events, tug of war, cock fight, push-ups, shot put, and the popular Pork Fat Eating Competition, a cultural highlight celebrating endurance and traditional Naga strength.

The tournament concluded with the Overall Champion title awarded to Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me Bangalore (PNTMB), with Tangkhul Naga Welfare Society Bengaluru (TNWSB) as Runner-Up. Mao Students’ Union Bangalore (MSUB) received the Best Disciplined Team, while Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me Bangalore (PNTMB) was also recognized for Best Attendance.

The event was sponsored by Zingron Restaurant, co-sponsored by Seven Sisters Pitstop, with Bangalore Baptist Hospital and Sakra World Hospital serving as the Healthcare Partners, and Melita Luxury Skincare as the SPF Partner. And special appreciation goes to the Donors for their generous contributions.
