Ukhrul: The Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim, Ministry of Information and Publicity in a press statement issued on May 31, 2024, said that the Naga Army recently faced a coordinated attack by the combined forces of the Kuki National Army (B) [KNA(B)] and Indian security forces, leaving locals bewildered and wary of their presence.

The NSCN has said that the actions of Assam Rifles (AR) and the Para Regiment in guarding the sensitive Indo-Myanmar border in Kamjong district have raised serious concerns.

According to NSCN, the Kukis are granted free access to cross the border, while non-Kukis face discrimination and restrictions. There are allegations of a free flow of weapons and ammunition into Myanmar, where KNA(B) operates under the banner of the Democratic Alliance Army against the junta. These operations are reportedly supported and facilitated by Indian security forces, the statement said.

Despite logistical challenges, NSCN has accused the Indian security forces for allegedly conducting clandestine operations with KNA(B), targeting the Naga Army and Meitei revolutionaries affiliated with the Western Southeast Asia (WeSEA) alliance. Male refugees in [Kamjong] camps are reportedly coerced into espionage and reconnaissance activities by AR, effectively turning them into henchmen, NSCN claimed.

Further, closer observation suggests that KNA(B) has become a conglomerate of Kukis from Bangladesh, Manipur, and Myanmar, operating under the command of the 21 Para Regiment and 8th Assam Rifles, NSCN accused, adding that, their primary objective appears to be taking on the Naga Army of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) and WeSEA revolutionaries.

“The irony is that AR has an inherent policy of taking inimical stand against NSCN on any flimsy ground. This is absurd in any sense of the term. Naturally, AR’s animosity towards Naga Army of NSCN is a matter of unjustifiable expense. Even after the historic 1997 ceasefire between the Government of India and NSCN, AR remain defiant, refusing to abdicate the anti-NSCN stance. AR for no tangible reason considered NSCN as thorns in their fresh. No wonder, AR has gained notoriety for its mendacious troublemaking character. Ever since Indian Security Forces started covert operation against Naga Army at Myothit in collusion with KNA (B) using drones, frisking at Hebron Designated Camp to Dimapur road also intensified,” stated the NSCN.
