Naga Lawyers’ Association Manipur Formed to Champion Justice and Community Welfare

Ukhrul: The legal fraternity from various Naga tribes of Manipur has established the Naga Lawyers’ Association Manipur (NLAM) in good faith and unity on August 26, 2024.

In a press release signed by Khatter Playson Anal, General Secretary of NLAM, it was stated, “On August 26, 2024, Lawyers and Advocates of the Naga community in Manipur convened a meeting at Dewlahland, Imphal, where extensive discussions and deliberations on several pressing issues were conducted. As a result of the gathering, the legal fraternity from various Naga tribes in Manipur resolved to establish the ‘Naga Lawyers’ Association Manipur (NLAM)’ with the motto ‘Strive for Justice,’ aimed at promoting the common interests of Naga lawyers and significantly enhancing the welfare and well-being of the Naga people within the state.”

During the general meeting, the following individuals were unanimously appointed or elected as the executive members of the NLAM for a three-year term, from 2024 to 2027:
