Nagaland Govt Forms Task Force to Boost AVGC-XR Sector

Kohima, Feb 20: A meeting was held to promote animation, visual effects, gaming, comics, and Extended Reality (AVGC-XR) sector in Nagaland, with Chief Secretary, Dr. J Alam at the Civil Secretariat, Kohima today. The meeting brought together administrative heads of departments (AHoDs), heads of departments (HoDs), and officers from various stakeholder departments to discuss strategies for the development of the sector.

The departments present included Higher Education, Finance, Planning & Transformation, Law & Justice, Information Technology & Communications (IT&C), Education and SCERT, Industries & Commerce, Tourism, Art & Culture, Entrepreneurship & Skill Development, Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), and Information & Public Relations (IPR).

A key outcome of the meeting was the decision to constitute a Task Force on AVGC-XR, comprising all stakeholder departments, with the Department of Information & Public Relations (IPR) as the Nodal Department. The Task Force will be responsible for formulating a policy framework to guide the development of AVGC-XR in the state. It was also decided to form a state-level steering committee on AVGC-XR.

During the meeting, each department shared their existing contributions to the sector and outlined their future plans. All departments expressed enthusiasm and commitment to working together to harness the potential of AVGC-XR as a game-changing industry for Nagaland.
