Nagaland to hold Miss Hornbill International event in 2022

Kohima: As part of the Hornbill Festival of Nagaland, Vogue Entertainment Nagaland (VEN) is all set to organise Miss Hornbill next year in 2022.

This was declared today by the VEN managing director, Dode Nakro during a press conference at Crescent International Hotel, Kohima.

Nakro said that the aim of Miss Hornbill International event is to promote the cultures and traditions of Nagaland globally, transmitting the growth of ethnicity, and expanding pageantry, fashion, and tourism industry which will take Nagaland beyond.

He hopes that the VEN event will foster long-term policy for pageantry and tourism, promotion of local artisans, stakeholders in beauty pageants, and creating global liaison.

“A unique crown will be launched for Miss Hornbill International that will have the touch of the Hornbill bird and the stature of the current 12 districts of Nagaland, which will be one of the substantial highlights of the mega event,” said Nakro.

He also informed that the state’s tourism department has already been notified about the holding of the event.

Nakro also informed that VEN is an event management organisation based in Nagaland, with a vision to uplift the talented youths in the arena of fashion and beauty pageant industry, to create a platform to groom/train upcoming models, fashion enthusiasts, and promote potential Naga designers.

As the arena broadens with successful events over the years, and as the society takes more interest in this space of profession, the organisation believes in intensifying and elevating the vision through Miss Hornbill International.
 
As an organisation that has been consistent in all its projects, enterprises, and undertakings, VEN expressed its desire to venture into this new event in Nagaland to create a wider platform not only for the Nagas, but for everyone across the globe. This will build relationships among regions and countries, thus making it an international event that would be open to participants beyond Nagaland and the Northeast, added Nakro.

Other VEN officials present at the press conference were Vilhousa Movi, Assistant Managing Director and Official Designer VEN, Ravolu Chuzho, Team Leader VEN, Zhozoto Nakro, Program Coordinator VEN, Ezhotou Keyho, Team Member VEN and Miss Phek 2021 and  Lovi Jidoji, Team Member VEN and Miss Phek 1st runner Up.
