NEIMUN 2024 Concludes in Dimapur: Maple Tree School Wins Best Delegation Award

Ukhrul: The North East India International Model United Nations (NEIMUN) Annual Conference 2024 wrapped up on a high note at Don Bosco Institute, Dimapur, bringing together over 100 young leaders from across Northeast India. The event, held from October 18 to 20, provided a platform for students to discuss global issues, engage in diplomacy, and simulate international relations, fostering dialogue and leadership among the participants.

The highlight of the conference was Maple Tree School, Dimapur, winning the coveted Best Delegation Award for their outstanding performance in teamwork, discipline, and active participation during committee sessions. The competition was fierce, with delegations from various schools and colleges putting forth their best efforts.

In addition to the Best Delegation Award, three students were recognized with the Best Delegate Awards for their individual excellence and leadership during committee sessions. These delegates stood out for their consensus-building skills and their ability to facilitate productive dialogue.

The awardees were:

  1. Mr. Alvin Singson – Maple Tree School, Dimapur
  2. Mr. Pragyan Dutta – MVM-4 Borsajai, Assam
  3. Ms. Thuirei Vashum – Delhi Public School, Dimapur

The conference concluded with a Closing Plenary Session, where delegates reflected on their experiences over the three days. Many highlighted how adopting the roles of world leaders and simulating United Nations sessions broadened their understanding of diplomacy and enhanced their communication and leadership skills.
