Meghalaya: NGO Member Killed in Mob Attack in West Garo Hills, Three Arrested

Shillong: Three people were arrested and security was intensified in Goalgaon village under the Rajabala constituency in Meghalaya’s West Garo Hills district after a violent mob attack killed an NGO member on Friday evening.

The victim, Dilseng M Sangma, was associated with the A·chik Conscious Holistically Integrated Krima (ACHIK). Another NGO member was seriously injured and is undergoing treatment. The district administration imposed a night curfew to prevent further unrest.

The cause of the incident is yet to be verified. Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma condemned the incident and appealed for peace, while police continued raids to apprehend others involved.
