SENAPATI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday recorded the statement of NG Lorho, President of the United Naga Council (UNC), in Senapati in connection with its investigation into the May 13 ambush on pastors in the Kotlem–Kotzim area of Kangpokpi district.
The NIA team, comprising Dy.SP Manish Prabhune, CIO Abhijeet Pawar, and CT Anil Patil, visited Senapati as part of the ongoing investigation and recorded the statement of the UNC President.
The questioning was conducted in connection with RC-09/2026/NIA/IMP, which was re-registered by the agency on the directions of the Government of India based on FIR No. 17(05)2026 of New Keithelmanbi Police Station, Kangpokpi district.
Following the proceedings, media personnel sought comments from the NIA team regarding the visit and the progress of the investigation. However, the officials declined to give any press statement or comment on the case.

The NIA has not disclosed the contents of the statement recorded or any further details regarding the investigation. The agency continues its probe into the May 13 ambush, which was taken over following directions from the Government of India.
