Imphal: Amid the non-stop arrival of Union ministers in the poll-bound Manipur, National President of National People’s Party (NPP) and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma is also scheduled to arrive in Imphal on his three-day visit in the state.

The 60-seat Manipur Legislative Assembly will go to poll in the early part of next year, most probably in February and March.

A source in the Manipur unit of NPP said that its National President of the party and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma will be arriving in Imphal on November 22 on a three-day visit in the state.

On the first day of his tour, the NPP National President will launch the election campaign of the party for the upcoming poll in Kshetrigao Assembly constituency, Imphal East district.

He is scheduled to attend a series of election campaigns for the party in different Assembly constituencies of the state during his campaign in the state.

NPP won four seats in 2017 assembly elections and the party is one of the two major partners of BJP in the N Biren Singh-led coalition government, enjoying two ministerial berths.
