No-confidence motion against TNL president nullified

Ukhrul: The no-confidence motion move against the incumbent president of Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), David K Shimray was nullified by the speaker of TNL Assembly after going through the process as per the Riyan (Constitution) of the Tangkhul Naga Long, the apex body of the Tangkhul tribe in Manipur.

In a declaration issued and signed by the speaker of TNL Assembly, Shangam A Shipo, it stated that “after scrutiny of the no-confidence motion application, it was found that out of 74 signatories, 2 were found without appending signature of the individual and only 2 persons were present during the stipulated given time for scrutiny.

The declaration continued, further, 5 persons withdrew themselves while 67 Minganing (representatives) or signatories were absent on the day of scrutiny which was carried out on 10 and 11 July 2023.

Considering the above merits, no-confidence motion move against TNL president David K Shimray was declared nullified, stated the declaration issued by the speaker of TNL.
