No COVID-19 related death for fourth day in Manipur

Manipur reported no COVID-19 related death for the fourth consecutive day on Wednesday, even as 44 new cases reported in the last 24 hours (till 5pm of January 13) took the state’s COVID-19 infection tally to 28,769.

There is no report of death related to the pandemic in the state during the last 24 hours. The cumulative number of deaths remained at 365.

The 44 new positive cases were detected during testing of 1,584 samples over the past 24 hours, according to the daily update report of the state health department.

Of the 44 new positive cases, 3 were personnel of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
Of the 41 new positive cases from the general populace, 13 were from Churachandpur, 10 from Imphal West, six from Imphal East, four from Thoubal, two each from Kakching and Senapati, and one each from Chandel, Kamjong, Tengnoupal and Noney.

Discharged of 56 more patients on Wednesday after they recovered from COVID-19, the recovery tally of the state rose to 27,935 leaving only 469 including 29 CAPF personnel as active cases.
