SENAPATI: The Naga People’s Front (NPF), Senapati Division, joyfully celebrated Advent Christmas, 2025 on Friday at Thangal Ecological Park, Mayangkhang under the theme, “Christ, The Hope of Ages” (Col.1:27) and was hosted by Mao MLA Losii Dikho.

In his welcome note, NPF Senapati Division president ML Markson stated that the NPF is an issue-based political party.

“The NPF party believes that nothing can be achieved without God’s blessings that made the NPF party to start any programme and meeting with a prayer and ends with a prayer. For a blessed Christmas, the Advent Christmas was planned out with the arrival of December,” he said.

In his greetings, Naga People’s Organization (NPO) president Kuba Peter stated that Christmas is a time to forget and forgive every wrong doing, adding that advent is a preparation for the coming Christmas.

The NPO president lauded the political party for organizing such an event by reminding the idea of Christmas, adding that no other political party celebrates such Advent Christmas.

While it has been stated as “Nagaland for Christ,” the president asserted that nobody should forget God, reminding the NPF, as a political party, to go forward with His guidance, blessings and inspirations.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Losii Dikho said that the NPF party is a people’s mandate political party. He expressed gratitude to the people, stating that the support of the people had enabled them to reach thus far.

The MLA asserted that Nagas are fortunately blessed to be placed in the beautiful land with beautiful surroundings. He added that the programme was not to campaign for its political vision but to celebrate the coming of Christ into the world.

Mentioning the recent political development in Nagaland, MLA Dikho stated that a milestone has been created in the history of the NPF. Through the merging of the NDPP and the NPF, the MLA hoped for a brighter political vision in near future under the able leadership of Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.

Also addressing the gathering, Awangbow Newmai, NPF, Manipur State Unit president said that since the inception of the NPF in Manipur, the party was introduced to be a people’s mandate political party even though the majority might not support the party.

“Since its inception, four MLAs from the NPF were elected into the Manipur Legislative Assembly, including Alexander Pao, Losii Dikho, Samuel Risom and Victor Nunghlung who created history for the NPF party in 2012. The four NPF MLAs who were in the Opposition stood for the cause of the tribal rights and resigned from their posts in protest against the three anti-tribal bills during their tenure. With this, the first target for launching the NPF party into the state was served,” the NPF president said.

In 2017, the NPF joined the  government formation led by N Biren Singh as the chief minister. The NPF president assured that the party has not gone astray from its stand since day one. During the state conflict, the Nagas stood as a peacemaker, Newmai said, while briefing the service of the NPF.
