NPO Invites All Communities to Barak Festival; Appeals to Avoid Bandhs and Blockades

SENAPATI, NOV 18: The Naga People’s Organisation (NPO) has extended a warm and heartfelt invitation to all communities across the state and beyond to participate in the upcoming 4th Edition of the State Level Barak Festival 2025. The event will be held at Ziilipou, Senapati, from the 12th to the 14th of December, 2025, under the theme “Heritage in Harmony.”

In a press release, the organization stated, “The Barak Festival is a celebration of unity, cultural diversity, and shared heritage. It is an occasion where communities come together to honour the significance of the Barak River and to showcase the rich traditions, art, and customs that make our state vibrant and unique. The NPO believes that this festival will further strengthen bonds among the people of the state and promote mutual respect and understanding.”

In the spirit of unity, the NPO earnestly appeals to all communities and organisations to participate actively and peacefully. It specifically urged all parties to refrain from disturbing or obstructing any group or individual wishing to attend the celebrations and to avoid calling any form of bandh, blockade, or shutdown during the festive period. The release noted that such actions could hinder the participation and movement of visitors and performers from across the state.

“The success of the Barak Festival depends on the collective goodwill and cooperation of all,” the release stated. The NPO reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a safe, inclusive, and joyous event for everyone and sought the continued support of all communities.
