NPO orders strict observation of Genna in Senapati district on Oct. 29

Senapati, October 27: The Naga People’s Organisation (NPO) in a notice had declared strict observation of Genna in Senapati district on the historic civic reception of Th. Muivah, Ato Kilonser, GPRN at the district headquarters, Senapati on October 29.

In the notice, it stated that the Naga People’s Organisation (NPO), Senapati, endorsed the Genna declaration of 29th October, 2025, made on 23rd October, 2025 by the United Naga Council (UNC), in honour of the Historic Civic Reception Programme of Thuingaleng Muivah, General Secretary, NSCN, and Ato Kilonser, GPRN.

In observance of the Genna, the NPO notified that certain directives shall be strictly observed throughout Senapati District including all institutions — both Government and Private, including Banks— shall remain closed, all business establishments shall remain closed, all commercial activities, including transport services, shall remain suspended for the day, all paddy fields and domestic activities, except essential kitchen cooking, shall be put on hold for the day while urging to uphold the spirit of unity and solidarity.

Vehicle movement of all kinds will be restricted, except for those attending the official programme with car pass.

However, certain exemptions are made including public emergencies such as medical services, fire services, Media and power supply are exempted from the purview of the restrictions.
