Senapati, November 3: The Naga People’s Organisation (NPO), while reacting to Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU) advisory statement, said today that it “shall take a drastic course of action by completely halting all forms of economic supply passing towards Kangpokpi areas, within 48 hours i.e. from the midnight of November 5.
The NPO said that the Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU) advisory statement issued in response to the Naga People’s Organisation (NPO) press release dated October 31, 2025, which condemned and served an ultimatum regarding the incidents of October 29 and October 30 at Daili village near Kangpokpi, “where the poster of the most respected Naga living legend, Eno. Th. Muivah, was desecrated twice and a huge firecracker was detonated, causing panic among the residents which is deeply regrettable”.

The NPO said, “If CoTU truly considers itself a responsible organisation, it must exercise honesty and integrity in addressing such a grave matter”, while adding, “Otherwise, one is compelled to ask if not the Kukis, then who else raised the slogans ‘We want Kuki Land’ and ‘We demand Kuki Land’?”
The NPO then said it does not blame the entire Kuki- Zo community. “In fact, we urged the concerned community-based civil society organisations to identify and present the culprits to our office”, the NPO added.
The NPO also said the statement issued by CoTU further confirmed that the incident was a deliberate and calculated attempt to insult and dishonour the “living legendary leader” of the Nagas. Therefore, the NPO said that in order to protect the dignity, integrity, and safety of the Naga people, it “shall take a drastic course of action by completely halting all forms of economic supply passing towards Kangpokpi areas, within 48 hours.
