UKHRUL: The Naga People’s Union Imphal (NPUI) has announced a peaceful mass rally scheduled for May 25 in protest against the abduction of six Naga civilians by suspected Kuki armed groups. The Imphal Naga Business Association (INBA) has also urged all Naga business establishments, shops, and commercial activities to show solidarity.
In a press statement, the NPUI appealed to the general public, particularly the Nagas residing in the Imphal Valley, to participate in the rally, which starts at 11:00 AM. It will begin at the Tribal Market in New Checkon and conclude at the Chief Minister’s office, where a memorandum will be submitted regarding the abduction of six Naga civilians by ‘Kuki terrorists’ since May 13 at Leilon Vaiphei village.
The NPUI encourages attendees to wear traditional attire in support of the cause.

In a related call to action, the Imphal Naga Business Association (INBA) has urged all Naga shops, business establishments, and commercial activities in the Imphal Valley to remain closed on May 25. This action is to show solidarity with the rally organized by the NPUI against the alleged kidnapping of the six innocent Naga civilians, including pastors, by Kuki militants since May 13, 2026.
The INBA stated, “All concerned business owners, traders, and establishments are directed to extend full support and cooperation by observing this protest as a collective stand for justice, unity, and the safety of the Naga community.”

Furthermore, the association warned that any shop, business establishment, or individual found defying this order would face strict consequences based on the association’s standing rules, resolutions, and decisions, with no further notice. This directive is issued for strict compliance in the interest of community solidarity.
