UKHRUL: The National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) has categorically rejected the allegations made by the Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) in its press statement issued today. It has also termed the KIM’s statement as an opportunistic attempt to exploit human tragedy for political gain.

In a rebuttal, the NSCN-IM stated that the allegation contained in the press statement-04/KIM/PR/22-41 dated 5th June, 2026, is categorically rejected in its entirety and that the statement is yet another example of the systematic fabrication, distortion, and misinformation that have repeatedly been employed to mislead the public and manipulate narratives surrounding the ongoing situation. “KIM’s repeated attempts to weaponize the suffering of the dead and injured expose a cynical agenda that has become all too familiar. The statement is seen as nothing more than what they are: an opportunistic attempt to exploit human tragedy for political gain,” the rebuttal read.

The NSCN-IM also stated that the baseless accusations are unsupported by credible evidence and follow a familiar pattern of manufacturing claims for propaganda purposes. “Such practices have been exposed on numerous occasions, undermining the credibility of those who continue to engage in the deliberate spread of falsehoods. Attempting to advance a narrative through unverified allegations does nothing to promote truth, justice, or peace; it only deepens mistrust and fuels further division,” it continued.

Further, the NSCN-IM strongly condemns the reckless dissemination of misinformation and urges the Kuki Inpi Manipur and affiliated groups to immediately refrain from the practice of concocting and circulating unsubstantiated allegations. It also stated that the repeated use of false narratives for political and strategic purposes is irresponsible and detrimental to efforts to restore normalcy and foster genuine dialogue.

The NSCN-IM calls upon the public, media organizations, and relevant authorities to critically examine such claims and rely only on verified facts established through impartial investigation. “Truth cannot be manufactured, and propaganda cannot substitute for evidence. Those who continue to spread misinformation should understand that falsehoods, no matter how often repeated, do not become facts. We therefore demand an end to these deceptive practices and urge all parties to act with responsibility, integrity, and respect for the truth,” it stated.

On the other hand, the Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen and Saikul MLA Kimneo Hangshing have condemned the tragic incident at Loibol village under New Keithelmanbi, Kangpokpi District, where three innocent lives were lost.

Deputy CM Nemcha Kipgen, condemning the incident, stated that all acts of violence that claim innocent lives and disrupt the peace and harmony of their society deepen the pain and suffering of their people and undermine their collective aspiration for a peaceful and secure future.

MLA Kimneo Hangshing stated that such barbaric attacks on innocent civilians are utterly unacceptable and deserve the strongest condemnation. No cause can ever justify the taking of innocent lives and the destruction of peaceful communities, she said.
