UKHRUL: The Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland (Yung Aung) faction has claimed responsibility for an attack on the 10th Assam Rifles along the Namgoi-Pangsau road today at 5:30 PM. The group reported that three personnel were killed in the attack.

In a press statement issued by the Ministry of Information and Publicity of NSCN-YA, it was stated that the assault was carried out in response to the unified protests from the Naga people against the construction of an illegal fence by India along the artificial boundary. The Naga Army Tactical Unit conducted the attack on the 10th Assam Rifles construction team, asserting that three personnel were killed on the spot.

The NSCN-YA stated, “Despite strong protests from all Nagas on both sides of the imposed borders, India remains insensitive, and the illegal construction continues with impunity. This is a blatant crime perpetrated by India against the Naga people, and it shows a complete disregard for fundamental principles of international and humanitarian law.”

Furthermore, the armed group emphasized that the Government of India must understand clearly that the illegal fence will not achieve any purpose; instead, it will only provoke the Naga community further. “Nagas will continue to defend our dignity, our homeland, and our freedom, and we will reject this oppressive colonial project at all costs,” the statement continued.
