One Covid-19 positive death reported while nine tested positive in the last 24 hour in Ukhrul district.
The deceased who was a resident of Jessami village succumbed to Covid infection earlier Thursday morning at district hospital Ukhrul.
Meanwhile, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him, The district administration Ukhrul had declared six residents of Ukhrul district as containment zone and revoked containment zone of two residence as all the family members have been retested and found negative.
The residents declared containment areas with immediate effect were residence of Shanghan Zingyo Maizailung, Ukhrul; residence of Shanmila R. Shimray W/o Ringmi R. Shimray, Wino Bazar, Ukhrul; residence of Kashungam Kashung S/o Ngaraipam Kashung, Konghang Ngayi tang,Ukhrul; residence of Brightson Zingkhai H/o Lantingla, Rayotang Ukhrul; residence KS. Huimila W/o Mepo, Kamphasom Ukhrul and residence of KS. Wonshimla D/o KS. Khathing, Kamphason tang, Ukhrul.
In addition to promulgation of containment areas, the district magistrate had sealed, barred entry and exit of population from the containment areas and had directed to initiate active surveillance of Covid -19 active cases with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, the district magistrate had revoked the residents of Sochipem Shaiza son of Yarteo Shaiza, Hamleikhong and Thuimirin Huileng, New Cannan, Ukhrul as all the family members have been retested and found negative.
