NONEY/UKHRUL: A factional clash between suspected Zeliangrong United Front-Kamson (ZUF-K) and Zeliangrong United Front-Jenchui (ZUF-J) groups reportedly took place early Saturday at Nungtek, Karuangmuan Part -2 under Noney Police Station, Noney district, leaving one person dead and six others injured, according to police.
The incident reportedly took place around 5:30 AM.
The deceased has been identified as Jangailing Gonmei, 37, of Taosang Pinjang village.
Of the six injured, the condition of three is said to be critical.

The injured persons were initially given emergency first aid and treatment at Makaam Hospital, Longmai Bazar. They were later referred to Imphal for further medical treatment under CRPF escort.
The clash occurred barely a day after one Dingtiplung Gonmei, a ZUF-K cadre, was reportedly killed in a firing incident at Puichi (Oktan) village at around 3:30 PM. The incident took place while the ZUF-K group was organising the 95th Haipou Jadonang Death Anniversary Football Tournament at Puichi (Oktan) village under Haochong Sub-division, Noney district.
