Senapati: More than 300 goods-laden trucks carrying essential commodities have been stranded along the National Highway in the Senapati district due to the ongoing indefinite economic blockade called by the Senapati District Students Association (SDSA) since October 5 evening. Enraged by the continuous mobile internet ban even in unaffected areas like Senapati district, the district’s apex student body has started calling for the blockade. No report of intimation from the state govt is received till the filing of this report.

According to a report from Mao, around 200 goods-laden trucks heading to Imphal are stranded along the Mao area and state border areas. Sources from Senapati mentioned that around 100 goods-laden trucks are stranded between Mao and Senapati and around 60 trucks are stranded along the highway below Senapati till T/Khullen.
Mention may be made that the Senapati District Students Association (SDSA) has called the indefinite economic blockade since October 5 evening to press the state govt to lift the mobile internet ban that has been extended for more than 5 months now. No untoward incident was reported until the filing of this report.
