UKHRUL: Over 317 villagers were examined during a medical camp organised by the Assam Rifles at Thingba Khunou (Shomai) village in Senapati district, Manipur on Tuesday.
Of these 317 villagers, 137 were men, 150 women and 30 children, according to the Assam Rifles.
The event was held with an aim to provide quality healthcare support to the local population in remote locations and raise awareness about preventive health practices.
The medical camp commenced with an informative lecture on disease prevention, highlighting the importance of maintaining hygiene and sanitation, consuming nutritious foods and carrying out regular physical exercise.

After the session, the attendees received medical consultations and free medicines. Screening for hypertension, diabetes and other lifestyle related ailments was also conducted to ensure timely detection and intervention, it stated.
The initiative offered the much needed medical assistance to residents who often face challenges in accessing affordable healthcare, the Assam Rifles added.
