Shillong: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Meghalaya on December 18 to attend the golden jubilee celebration of the North Eastern Council (NEC).

If the Prime Minister visit Meghalaya, he will be in the state for not more than 2 hours before he flies back to New Delhi.

Meanwhile, sources said that all necessary security arrangements have been enhanced in the state since the past few days following the imminent visit of the Prime minister.

Sources also said that the Prime Minister, if visits the state, is also likely to attend a programme at IIM Shillong on December 18.
