Imphal: Barely a day after suspected militants triggered IEDs at two different places in Manipur killing a soldier of Assam Rifles in one of the blasts, police today recovered another IED which was found planted at the gate of a house in Imphal East district. The IED was found planted at the gate of one Laishram Bobbysana Singh at Etam Nungoi under Lamlai police station of Imphal East district.
Experts of the state police Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad and Assam Rifles defused the same in the morning, around 7.30 am.
Even though the police suspected monetary demand behind the bomb threat, the house owner said that no militant group had served any monetary demand to him.
This bomb threat came barely a day after IEDs were exploded at two different places on Wednesday.

In one of the blasts at Ushoipokpi under Lilong police station of Thoubal district, a jawan of the 16 Assam Rifles was killed and another critically wounded.
Meanwhile, registering a strong condemnation of the blast, women of Ushoipokpi and Sangomshang villages today staged a protest.
They condemned the blast, saying that the site where the IED was triggered is a public playground for the children of the villages besides being a thickly populated area.
They appealed not to repeat similar incidents in the area in future considering the safety of the villagers.
Hours after the incident, another IED went off at the gate of the house of a woman zilla parishad member, Laishram Bobby Devi at Khonghampat under Sekmai police station of Imphal West district last night, around 7.40 pm.
There was no casualty even though the impact of the blast damaged the RCC fencing of the house.
Bobby is currently up-adhyaksha of Imphal West Zilla Parishad.
Residents of Khonghampat staged a protest today against the blast. During the protest they also pressed to clarify the reason behind bomb blast at residential area if any of the rebel groups behind it.
