Senapati, October 31: The much awaited Poumai Premier League (PPL) Season XI, 2025 begins at Astro Turf Ground, Senapati with 13 teams. The opening ceremony was graced by Boveio Poukai Duo, CAO (Caretaker), Shepoumaramth Region, GPRN as the chief guest and L. Pfokrehrii, General Secretary, SDOAM as the guest of honour respectively.

Dr. Paode, Convenor, PPL Season XI in his welcome address stated that the current year is the third time organised in the district headquarters. The main reason for organising such an event was stated to provide and promote the local players to a bigger platform by identifying the talented players. The convenor advised all the players to keep a vision to win and display their talents during the tournament.

Addressing the gathering, SDOAM General Secretary, Pfokrehrii stated that he also participated in the tournament as a Poumai when the tournament was organised in Delhi. Later, when he became the President of the Mao Students Union, Delhi, he took the part of a referee during such tournaments held in Delhi. Acknowledging the organisers for their unwavering dedication for betterment of the local youth to have brought such tournaments in the district headquarters, the guest of honour urged to produce more and more good players through such tournaments. The guest of honour urged all the players to maintain team work, discipline, sportsmanship and display their talents in a good manner.

Speaking as the chief guest, Boveio Poukai Duo stated that he has been taking part in all sports events even if he is not a player by profession. The caretaker CAO urged the organisers to affiliate with other higher platforms in order to promote the young players to a higher level. While urging the players to give their best, the chief guest urged all the players to consider it as an opportunity to promote them to higher through such tournaments. The chief guest urged the players to know one another and create love among everyone through such tournaments.

Mentioning the benefits of having constructed such turf ground in the heart of Senapati Town, the caretaker CAO, Shepoumaramth Region, GPRN asserted that many anti social elements are decreased when many youth have given their minds into sports, especially football. The chief guest wished his best wishes to all the players.

The football tournament will culminate on November 11 next.
