UKHRUL: Power supply to the 33/11 kV Nungbi Sub-Station has been disrupted after a landslide near Shirui Village damaged key transmission infrastructure, the Manipur State Power Company Limited (MSPCL) said on Thursday.

Per a press note issued by the manager, Transmission Sub-Division No. VIII, MSPCL, the landslide caused the collapse of a double-pole structure and tilted an adjoining single-pole structure, resulting in the interruption of electricity supply to the sub-station.

MSPCL said restoration work is underway, with teams engaged in clearing landslide debris and reopening the highway to enable repair work. However, the press note said it is likely to take a few days before power supply to the Nungbi Sub-Station can be restored.

Until repairs are completed, electricity will remain unavailable to all consumers served by the 33/11 kV Nungbi Sub-Station, the press note added.

Expressing regret over the disruption, MSPCL apologised for the inconvenience caused to consumers and the public in the affected areas and said every effort is being made to restore power supply at the earliest.
