Protest Against CM’s Visit to Tamenglong Disrupts Normalcy

Wednesday’s Manipur chief minister’s visit to Tamenglong headquarters to inaugurate various projects in Tamenglong and Noney districts was boycott by Tamenglong Concerned People’s Forum (TCPF). The protest called by TCPF against chief minister’s visit to Tamenglong disrupted normalcy in Tamenglong today.

In a press statement issued by the Forum prior to the coming of chief minister N Biren Singh to Tamenglong today, TCPF informed all shops and business establishments to remain closed, and also called for boycott of N Biren’s coming.

All shops remained closed during the protest which was conducted today. However, vehicles and individuals could be seen in the streets.

The inaugural program was conducted later at Lower Ground, Tamenglong.

In his visit to Tamenglong, N Biren inaugurated Oxygen Plant, additional 50 bedded hospital and Tamenglong Natural Football ground at Tamenglong district headquarter. Altogether 32 projects were also inaugurated virtually for Tamenglong and Noney Districts out of which 28 are completed projects and the remaining 4 projects the foundation stone was also laid by the Chief Minister of Manipur.
