Senapati, September 15: Senapati, 15 Sep: The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Senapati, issued a public advisory on 14th September 2025 in view of the incessant rainfall and the subsequent rise in water levels of rivers and hill streams in the district.
According to the India Meteorological Department’s Impact-Based Forecast issued on September 14, heavy to very heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning are very likely to occur from September 14 to 16, 2025.

In this regard, the DDMA advised the general public to exercise extreme caution and remain alert to possible breaches of riverbanks and overflow of water into surrounding areas. Moreover, to protect life and property, the public is advised to take the following precautions:
- Avoid driving or walking through flowing water, as it can be risky.
- Do not attempt to swim across or cross a flooded river, stream, or any flowing water body.
- Stay away from floodwaters, as they may be contaminated with sewage, chemicals, or other hazards.
- Do not touch or go near any submerged transformers, inverters, or electrical posts/wires.
- Stay informed through local news and emergency alerts.
- Follow instructions from local authorities and emergency responders.
- Comply with evacuation orders issued by authorities.
- Postpone outdoor activities, including farming and fishing, until the situation improves.
- Avoid unnecessary travel to inundated areas.
- Switch off electrical appliances if water enters your home.
- Ensure children and the elderly stay in safe locations.
- Remain vigilant and immediately inform government authorities in case of any emergency.

Meanwhile, landslides and mudslides have occurred along NH-2 between Senapati and Mao Gate, as well as NH-102A (Tadubi–Ukhrul road) and NH-129 (Maram–Peren road), causing much inconvenience to commuters.
