RKL and Oraimayu clan demand justice over suspicious death of late Yarnam Haorei

Ukhrul: Raphei Katamnao Long and Oraimayu clan of Tangkhuls have strongly condemned and demanded fair justice over the uncertain and suspicious demise of late 19-year-old Yarnam Haorei of Chingai village.

Sources said that Yarnam Haorei, son of Ngasomi Haorei of Chingai village in Ukhrul district was found dead by the locals near Soraphung and Tusom junction on November 5 last.

Strongly condemning and demanding justice for the deceased, Yarnam Haorei, the Raphei Katamnao Long (Northern Tangkhul Students’ Body) in its statement said that the students’ body is deeply saddened to hear the untimely demise of Yarnam Haorei.

“The deceased body has been found by the Forensic Laboratory of Science, Pangai and has been taken to Imphal for post-mortem and conduct further investigation on the uncertain and suspicious death of the deceased,” RKL stated.

The RKL then appealed the concerned department to conduct a fair investigation and deliver justice to the departed soul and the bereaved family.

The student body further said that it would take stringent measures on the matter.

In the meanwhile, condemning the brutal murder, a statement issued by the office of the Oraimayu clan of Tangkhuls said, “It is extremely painful to learn about the brutal murder of our son, late Yarnam Haorei aged around 19, s/o Ngasomi Haorei of Chingai village on November 5 last while travelling with the dipper driver identified as one Ranjit Gola of Golaghat Assam and his handyman Ayepe of Jessami village.”

“This inhumane act is beyond human imagination,” it alleged.

“We demand the concerned authority to investigate the incident thoroughly and book the culprits immediately. We demand that the culprits be punished as per the law of the land,” stated in a statement issued by Ringo Haorei, chairman, Oraimayu Naotun and Empson Haorei, secretary, Oraimayu Naotun.
