Sarita Devi appointed Marathon Ambassador for Run Chandel Run 2025

Chandel, March 3: The 4th edition of the much-anticipated Run Chandel Run is set to take place on March 15, 2025, and this year, the event has a special ambassador to inspire participants. Sarita Devi, a former international boxer, Arjuna Awardee, and currently serving as the Superintendent of Police (SP) Sports, Government of Manipur, has been appointed as the Marathon Ambassador for the event.

Run Chandel Run, organised by the Assam Rifles in association with DSA Chandel and Wisecrabs, promises to be a day of fitness, fun, and community spirit. The event will feature various categories, including a 5 km run for boys and girls under 16 years, a 5 km open category for males and females, a 12 km open category, and a special Dream Run for participants above 45 years.

Participants can look forward to exciting prizes, with the top three finishers in each category receiving cash awards. The first-place winners in the 5 km and 12 km categories will take home ₹5,000 and ₹10,000, respectively. Additionally, participants from the 4th to the 10th positions will be awarded medals, certificates, and consolation prizes.

The race will commence at Heibunglok Village for the 12 km open category, with the finishing point at MUGHSS Ground, Japhou. The 5 km run will start at Thoruwl Turf. The first 100 registrants will receive free T-shirts, and registration forms are available at 21AR Mahamani, Eden Book-Cafe, and Thoruwl Turf.
