Security forces recover AK, Carbine Rifles and more arms at Sinam Village

Imphal: The combined team of Manipur Police, Manipur Rifles, IRB, CRPF and Army recovered various arms and ammunition during a search operation at Sinam Village in Imphal East district on Monday morning. The search operation, which involved approximately 100 houses in the village, took place from 3:30 AM to 5:45 AM.

The recovered items include one AK rifle, one Point 303 rifle, two Carbine rifles, one empty LMG magazine, twenty 5.56 mm live bullets, five Bullet proof jackets, and five khaki shirts along with one pant.

It may be mentioned that troops of Assam Rifles in Manipur’s Churachandpur district apprehended three persons after arms and ammunition were recovered from their possessions on Friday, a police source said on Saturday. The troops of 27 Assam Rifles arrested the three persons from Bethel village of Churachandpur district last night, 11.30 pm along with one Insas Rifle, one 9mm country-made pistol, 10 live rounds of 5.56 mm of Insas rifle, one magazine of Insas rifle and one magazine of 9 mm country-made pistol.
