SENAPATI: Quick Action Team (QAT) of Mao Police Station, A/109 Battalion of the CRPF and B Coy 16 Assam Rifles while conducting random frisking and checking at the Mao checkpoint seized 15 soap cases of suspected brown sugar on Monday.

A white A-Star Maruti Suzuki bearing registration No. HR05AG9844 coming from Senapati towards Nagaland was stopped for checking. During the checking, 15 soap cases of suspected brown sugar were found concealed behind both the front seat bag. The driver, identified as Firoz (35), s/o Md. Kamaruddin from Yairipok Tulihal Mayai Leikai, Imphal East was arrested by observing formalities.

The following items were seized from him including 15 soap cases suspected to be brown sugar weighing 174 gms including the weight of the plastic packets, a brown wallet containing Rs. 5000/-, Aadhar card, ATM card, and driving licence, all in his name. A case has been registered at Mao Police Station for investigation
