UKHRUL: The People’s Committee on Peace and Security has postponed the planned “People’s Mass Rally on Peace and Security,” which was originally scheduled for March 25, 2026.
In a statement, the committee explained that the decision was made to allow enough time for obtaining the necessary government permits and conflicting schedules with other participating civil society organizations for the event. The committee assured that the new date and time for the rally will be announced soon.

“We appreciate the public’s understanding and look forward to their participation in this important event,” the statement read.
During a media briefing on the rescheduling of the mass rally, the Acting Convener of the committee, Ashang Kasar, mentioned that the postponement was due to several factors, including Cheiraoba, Eid, the end of the financial year, and conflicting schedules with other civil society programs.
He indicated that the new date will be set for the first week of April or within that month, and that it will be confirmed after consultations with other civil societies, including COCOMI and the Indigenous Peoples’ Forum.
