SENAPATI: The Senapati District Truck Driver’s Union strongly condemned the cowardly act of arson committed by unknown miscreants at Kabinam Village along NH-2 on Monday.

The Tata Truck bearing registration number NL07AA-2863, belonging to the General Secretary of the Northeast Federation of Trade Unions (NEFTU) was carrying TMT bars and plastic barrels, was set ablaze in broad daylight.

Such a heinous act not only resulted in the destruction of valuable property but also posed a serious threat to the safety and livelihood of truck drivers in the lifeline of Manipur by disrupting the safe movement of essential goods along the highway. “Such acts of violence and intimidation are
unacceptable and must be dealt with firmly and without delay,” the union lamented.
