Sikkim Girls to Represent India in World Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Championship in Uzbekistan

The two girls from Sikkim, Bhawika Pradhan and Jharna Rai are all set to represent the nation in the upcoming 12th edition of World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships.

The championship will be held at Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan from October 1-7.

Bhawika Pradhan will compete in junior category, while Jharna Rai will compete in senior category.

Hailing from Sichey, Bhawika is the daughter of Ambika and Robin Pradhan. She has also become the winner of first women physique 2018 championship.

Recently, both these girls had attended the national selection trial held at Chandigarh.

Bhawika expressed her happiness on being selected for the national team to represent the country in the international competition.

“I have been preparing hard for this moment and would give my best in the competition to win a medal for my country,” she said.

Furthermore, Jharna Rai asserted that although one month is still left for the competition, both the girls will prepare hard for their debut international participation.

On August 15, the Body Builders Association of Sikkim (BBAS) had conducted a selection trial here.

It is pertinent to mention here that BBAS selected both these athletes from Sikkim to participate in the national trials.
