Silver Jubilee of TAYSO witness different attractive cultural shows

Senapati, Dec 10: The ongoing Silver Jubilee of the Taphou Area Youth & Students Organization (TAYSO) witnessed different attractive cultural shows representing different tribes and communities living under it. The second day event was graced by Col. Anadi Atreya, Dy. Commandant, 59 Mountain Brigade as special guest.

R.D. Ismael, President, TAYSO in his welcome note stated that the journey started 25 years back. In those golden years, the body is stated to have seen many changes and achievements who also congratulated the hardworking souls of the founding members for which, they celebrate its fruits. The President prays to let the jubilee bring more unity, love, peace and progress among the various communities existing together under TAYSO.

Addressing the gathering, Dy. Commandant, 59 Mountain Brigade, Col. Anadi Atreya stated that the theme of the celebration entitled “Unity in Diversity” is also one of the principles on which the Indian country is built where TAYSO has taken this principle forward. With 18 villages of different tribes, almost all tribes are covered in the body which is the way to look forward to progress in the country. Whatever progress and plan the TAYSO is looking forward to, the army officer assured to support and assist in whatever possible way by the 59 Mountain Brigades which is station within TAYSO itself. While the Indian army is trying its best to help the youth of the country, the army officer assured to assist them in any way in future.

Colourful traditional dances and folk songs were presented during the program by representatives of different tribes and communities including the Poumai Naga, Maram, Mao, Kuki, Nepali, Liangmei and Thangal.

Addressing media persons, Robert T. Maram, the founding President of TAYSO stated that the organization was formed to foster unity, peace and progress among the different villages of Taphou. Inspite of the rich culture of the region, people have diverisyt in mind. However, the celebration tries to promote and imbibe a new concept among the youth of the society. Instead of having “This is my tradition, this is my culture,” the former President stated to interpret into “This is our tradition, this is our culture” through the Silver Jubilee. Different villages of different tribes were joined together so as to catch up the young minds in not only among the Taphou area or Senapati headquarters but among the state and even to country. The founding President is also hopeful of the jubilee celebration to be the foundation stone for the coming generation a new hope, a new thing and a new vision.
