Southern Tahamzam Naga Council (STNC) has endorsed the bandh called by Joint Action Committee for Protection of Liangmai Ancestral Land (JACPLAL) along the IT Road from midnight of February 20.

It can be mentioned here that JACPLAL had announced on Friday for the imposition of “indefinite total chakka bandh” along the IT Road saying, “This democratic agitation is initiated as the Kangpokpi district administration has failed to withdraw 144 CrPC imposed in Thonglang Atongba jurisdiction since January 19, 2021 without any valid reason”.

Declaring its support to JACPLAL on Saturday, STNC said, “It is seriously observing the matter and will extend every support till the 144 Cr.PC is revoked from Thonglang jurisdiction”. STNC also sought clarification from the deputy commissioner of Kangpokpi regarding the term “disputed land” used in the prohibitory order.
