St. Joseph College, Ukhrul to Host District-Level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament

Ukhrul, Mar 6: St. Joseph College, Ukhrul is set to host the District-Level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament on 14th and 15th March 2025 at the college auditorium. Under the able guidance and leadership of Dr. (Fr.) Parvis John, Principal, this significant event aims to provide a platform for young voices to express their ideas and perspectives on national development and governance.

Hundreds of youths from Ukhrul and Kamjong districts are expected to participate in this prestigious event. The Youth Parliament is open to individuals aged 18-25 years, offering them an opportunity to engage in discussions on nation-building and democratic governance.

To participate, interested candidates must register on the My Bharat Portal and upload a one-minute video speech on the topic:
“What Does Viksit Bharat Mean to You?”

A Screening Committee has been constituted by St. Joseph College, Ukhrul, which will evaluate the submitted speeches. Based on the assessment, 150 youths will be shortlisted for the District-Level Youth Parliament.

From the selected participants, the top 10 youth will qualify for the State-Level Youth Parliament. The final shortlisted candidates will then have the esteemed opportunity to represent Manipur at the National-Level Youth Parliament, scheduled to be held later this month at the Parliament of India.

The youth of Ukhrul and Kamjong are strongly encouraged to participate in this initiative and contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat, as envisioned by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. This event is a crucial step in fostering youth engagement in policy-making and democratic processes, empowering young minds to play a significant role in India’s development.
