Ukhrul: The much anticipated 5th edition of State Level Shirui Lily Festival 2023 scheduled to be held from May 17 till 20 has been postponed until further notice.
The notice of the four-day-long festival was issued on May 11 by W Ibohal Singh, Director, Tourism Department, Government of Manipur.
Shirui Lily (Lilium Macklinae), Kashong Timrawon in Tangkhul dialect, is the State flower of Manipur. The festival is a tribute to the State’s flower, a rare pinkish white flower which only bloom during spring (for about two months) at the upper range of Shirui Kashong (Peak).

This year’s ShiRock, an annual rock competition organised as part of the State Shirui Lily festival of Manipur, one of the biggest rock festivals in Northeast India — arguably the biggest in the region, was preparing to witness two international bands — Orphaned Land a metal band from Tel Aviv, Israel and Bon Jovi’s tribute band Bon Giovi from the United Kingdom at Bakshi ground, Ukhrul town.
7 Sisters Foundation, responsible for the blockbuster Michael Learns to Rock (MLTR) concert Imphal witnessed in November 2022 was to manage and host ShiRock 2023.
