Surgery Specialist in Tamenglong District Hospital suspended over excessive absentees

A surgery specialist posted in Tamenglong District Hospital was suspended on Thursday over excessive absence from duty.

According to the order signed by Soiminlian Lengen, Deputy Secretary (Health & FW), Government of Manipur, “Dr. Thounaojam Chandrakumar, Specialist (Surgery), District Hospital, Tamenglong is contemplated for insubordination, prolonged absence from duty and negligence of duty during COVID-19 related pandemic.”

The surgery specialist was suspended with immediate effect in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of Rule 10 of the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1965.

The order further mentioned that during the period that this order shall remain in force, the headquarters of Dr. Thounaojam Chandrakumar should be Tamenglong District head quarter and Dr. Thounaojam Chandrakumar shall not leave the headquarters without obtaining the previous permission of the competent authority, it said.
