Tamenglong Ward No 1 – 5 placed under Containment Zone

According to an order issued by Tamenglong District Magistrate, Armstrong Pame IAS, the area in Ward No 1 – 5 placed under containment zone the number of Covid positive cases increased over the past 3 days despite utmost precautionary measures being taken up within the district.

Also as per findings of Medical Department, even those people who were confined only within the district were found Covid positives. In response to the development, Covid-19 Task Force held a meeting chaired by Minister Awangbow Newmai and decision to place containment measures was made, the order said. Further, containment orders will be applicable in the main town from Forest Gate till District Council Junction including ADC Colony area, it mentioned.

However, exemptions were given to some activities including transportation of essential commodities, those works carrying out at worksite without movement of workers, state and national projects, home delivery of essential commodities, medical related activities including COVID19 testing and vaccination, Child Protection Services, Health Care Worker & Front Line Workers carrying out COVID19 duties, Banking Service with limited staff and employees of department carrying out essential services such as PHED, Power, Telecom Services, Fire Services and members of the Press.

The order is for seven days effective from 6 PM of May 12 till May 19, 2021 or untill further order is issued whichever is earlier.
