Ukhrul, July 26: The Tangkhul Naga Welfare Society, Bengaluru (TNWSB) has announced it will commemorate its 39th Dharthei Kazip, on August 20, under the contemplative and aspirational theme, “Rooted in Values, Rising with Vision”.
Dharthei Kazip stands as a seminal cultural observance within the Tangkhul community, emblematic not only of intergenerational continuity but also of the community’s steadfast adherence to its civilisational ethos amidst the dynamics of modern urban existence.

TNWSB informed that the occasion serves as both a ceremonial induction of newly settled community members and a collective reaffirmation of cultural identity, solidarity, and forward-looking resolve.
The Society has announced that MLA Leishiyo Keishing will preside as the Chief Guest, accompanied by Ngahanpam Haorei, PRO to the MLA. The program will also be graced by Thangmeiso Shinglai, a prominent Tankhul musician. In addition, Reitim Khapai, will present her work in visual arts.
“This year’s observance of Dharthei Kazip aspires not merely to commemorate, but to consecrate a vision of cultural perseverance, intellectual renewal, and diasporic unity. It stands as a testament to the Tangkhul people’s capacity to harmonise tradition with modernity, memory with aspiration,” TNWSB said.
